From a sleeping lemur to a foggy bridge: The beautiful images on a list on a global black-and-white photo competition

It's no wonder they were shortlisted in a global photography contest.
They were selected from 10,219 entries in a competition run by photo app Agora that asked photographers to submit their best black and white photos.
The beautiful and varied images here capture scenes that range from a misty river in Bangladesh to a sweet snap of a sleeping lemur in Indonesia and a dramatic image of Death Valley in California.

Bangladeshi photographer @mobilephonephotographybd captured this enchanting shot of a bridge in Ishurdi, Bangladesh, shrouded in fog
Snapper @myatzawhein took this photo, which shows a shepherd not trying to return a bull to his barn in Myanmar. The photographer said, & # 39; You beast estimates that, given the position of & # 39; a sun in the air, it was too early to return and refused to move forward.

This powerful image of a rare male Asian elephant, left, was taken by Dutch photographer @tomdewaart in Somawathiya National Park, Sri Lanka. He explained: & # 39; We were so surprised that he came so close to us that we were not up for it at all. I had my phone lens on and had to fully pull back from the & # 39; jeep around him & # 39; t to get shot. Filled with fun, I knew right away that a black and white version would work perfectly.
